Peek-A-Boo

Peek-A-Boo! I see you! I have just learned about all a game called Peek-A-Boo and I love it. In fact, I sometimes play and laugh so hard that I start to cough. Why didn't anyone tell me about this game before? A great version of the game is to put pillows around me and over my head and then peek in the sides and peek quickly as the pillows fall down. Who would have thought that such fun could be had with a couple of pillows?

Roaming along the Rhine

A walk along the river's edge in Dusseldorf is always a great way to spend a Sunday. I am enjoying a bit of time with my mom and dad and then we are going to go for coffee. I will probably pass on the coffee and stick to my tried and true formula but the coffee bars are still great fun. This is truly a Germany tradition ... Relax and enjoy the Sunday without any hint of work or worry.

Hanging Out With Daddy!

Yes, spending the day with Daddy is so much fun. Sometimes I can be a bit difficult and trying but we manage to get along just fine. Usually Mom gets me dressed before she goes to work as she loves to pick out my clothes. On this morning, she snapped a picture on her way out the door. Like father, like son : )

Walking with Mom and Leah

Yes, while my mom had friends visiting, I received a lot of attention and went on many walks. Germany is so beautiful in autumn as the leaves change colour and the air grows colder.

My First Swimming Lesson!

That first day in the pool was such fun. I did some great splashing and even splashed so hard that another baby got wet and started to cry. Since then, we have done many neat activities like grabbing floating objects, laying on our backs and putting our heads under water. I love the water now.

My first taste of potatoes ... yuck!

I have started solids as I am now 6 months old. Why do parents do this to their poor, innocent babies? Bottles are reliable, tasty and easy to swallow. But, potatoes are thick and difficult to swallow. I made all the faces that I could to show them I don't like solids but everyday I still face potatoes and now carrots ... What will my parents think of next?

One Up For Rogaine!

Wow, look out for those hair growth formulas that are now on the market. They really do work wonders. Go from 0 to 60 centimeters in a week : ) Just look at Robbie in this picture for proof. Yes, yesterday we had a bald baby and now ... Voila!

Happy Birthday Daddy

Yes, Robbie is off to take daddy out for his birthday dinner. Like father, like son, they are both wearing sports shirts. And, the birthday dinner includes steak and potatoes ... Well, Robbie does not really have the teeth yet for chewing steak. In fact, he has no teeth at all so his dinner included milk in a bottle. But, he had fun watching his parents enjoy their dinner. And, hence, the beautiful smile.

What the DUCK!

Ok, whose silly idea was it to dress Robbie up in his duck body suite with matching duck booties? Well, mommy of course! Yes, and we even put on jeans and went for a walk outside. People thought the outfit was so cute. Robbie, however, was not smiling ... I wonder why? : )

Going Sailing?

Yes, this is Robbie at 4 months of age. He is ready and set for sailing in the outfit that Grandma Deary bought for him. What he can't understand is why everyone is smiling and laughing at him as he looks innocently around the room. Dad was a bit horrified that he was dressed up so and he was quickly changed back into his regular jeans and t-shirt outfit by that afternoon. However, mom and Grandma Sally had a lot of fun with him that morning.

Hiking in Belgium (The Ardennes)

Despite sunny hot days in the town of Cugnon, Belgium, we enjoyed cool walks in the dense forests. Robbie was a silent partner on our walks as he slept most of the time. But, we'll assume that he enjoyed it none the less.

HAVE BABY ... WILL TRAVEL ... JUST NOT AS FAR : )

Smiles For Everyone!

Yes, Robbie is smiling and laughing now and I think there is nothing greater for a parent. Well, perhaps just as funny is the voice and facial expressions that Ben and I use to get him to smile. But, we can be forgiven for that, right?

Visit from Grandpa and Bev

Robbie enjoy every minute that he had with Bob and Bev when they were here. That week flew by fast but the visit was great.

Oh Canada!

Yes, Robbie's first Canada Day was celebrated in style. He was not so happy at first but after some celebration, he cheered up a bit. Only four days later, he'll have reason to celebrate again since he is both Canadian and American.

A Visit From Grandma!

How lucky we are to have Sally visit in July. Not only has she helped us set up our new apartment, but she has also helped supply our kitchen with some basic cooking supplies. It is wonderful to have such a great cook in the house.

Bath Time!

The biweekly bath ritual has become such fun. It starts with carefully measuring water temperatures and then ends with soap bubbles everywhere. Of course the whole episode, while fairly simple, seems to entail a lot of time, preparation and towels. But, in the end, a clean and happy Robbie is what is important, right? Are you having fun yet, Robbie? : )

Robbie is 3 months old now!

Watching Robbie grow and develop has been so fascinating. Every day he changes so much that it makes each moment so precious. The other day he sucked his thumb for the first time. The fact that he has not been able to find it since is insignificant : ) but the success or triumph of Robbie achieving something for the first time is such a wonderful time for Ben and me.
